Smart Swimming Goggles that help swimmers train smarter and stay safe.

My goal is to create goggles that show useful information while swimming — like lap count and time — and also provide safety alerts.

What is the project?

Smart Swimming Goggles are wearable goggles with a small display and sensors that help swimmers. The goggles track swimming activity and show important information in a simple way.

Why did I choose this idea?

Many swimmers lose track of laps or pace. Coaches also want data to improve training. My project aims to make training easier, more accurate, and safer.

Key Features

📊 Live Stats (HUD)

Display shows time, lap count, distance, and pace while swimming.

🏁 Training Mode

Set a goal (laps/time) and get gentle alerts when you reach targets.

🧠 Technique Support

Basic feedback (like stroke rate estimation) to help improve form.

📱 Mobile App

After swimming, results sync to an app for graphs and history.

🔋 Long Battery

Designed to last multiple training sessions with safe charging.

🛟 Safety Alerts

Optional alert if the swimmer stops moving for too long (prototype idea).

*This is a student concept. Some features are planned for future versions.

How It Works (Simple Explanation)

Sensors + Algorithms

  • Motion sensor detects strokes and turns.
  • Timer measures pace and total time.
  • Software estimates laps based on pool turns.

Display + App

  • Small screen (HUD) shows the most important info only.
  • Bluetooth sends data to a phone after the swim.
  • App shows progress over time and training goals.

Safety & Privacy

Safety Design

  • Waterproof casing and sealed buttons.
  • Comfortable strap and anti-fog lenses.
  • Alerts are optional and must be tested carefully.

Privacy Rules

  • Only collects swimming performance data (not personal messages).
  • Data can stay on the swimmer’s phone.
  • User chooses if data is shared with a coach.

Project Plan

Step 1: Research goggles + sensors + waterproof materials
Step 2: Design mockup (screen, buttons, strap, lens)
Step 3: Build prototype concept (demo UI + sample data)
Step 4: Testing plan (comfort + readability + data accuracy)
Step 5: Final presentation (website + slides + demo)
